Medication

If having seen the doctor you have been prescribed medication this can be collected from the on-site dispensary at Burham.

The dispensary is limited in size so whilst we carry a range of the more common items, it may be that we have to order your medication in. This usually takes about 24 hours so you will be given the option of waiting until it arrives at Burham or taking a signed prescription away for it to be dispensed at another chemist. If you are at Eccles please ask the reception staff to ring Burham to find out if your medication is available.

If you are taking medication on a regular basis, you will also receive a computer generated repeat prescription slip when you collect your medication.

We cannot take requests for repeat medication over the phone. If you do not have your repeat prescription slip then write down what you require with your name and address and hand it in to the surgery.

Repeat prescriptions require up to 4 working days to be processed.

Please note that due to the current COVID crisis, Eccles surgery will not be open on a regular basis so please do not post repeat prescriptions through Eccles letterbox. Please allow an extra day for this to happen.

Patients who live within a mile of a pharmacy will not be able to collect medication from the surgery. They will get their prescriptions as normal but will have to take them to a nearby pharmacy for dispensing. To find out if you come within the “one mile” rule here and follow the instructions to find your nearest pharmacy.
