Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

Each appointment is for one person only. If more than one person needs to be seen, please let us know so the necessary number of appointments can be booked.

Appointment slots are for 15 minutes and are normally for one medical problem. If you feel you would need a longer slot then please ask the receptionist who would then look to book you a 20 minute slot.

If you feel that your problem is urgent, you should tell the receptionist, and every effort will be made for you to be seen the same day. If the doctor needs to see you in person or you would prefer a face-to-face appointment, we will invite you to come in. Urgent appointment slots are usually available same day but do go fast and are all subject to availability.

If your condition is not urgent you can expect to see a GP within 3 to 4 weeks, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. You also have the option to book ahead if this is more convenient to you.

Ways to book

  1. Request an appointment online
  2. Download the NHS App
  3. Telephone: 01634 867982

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home Visits

Please be aware that our GPs will always call to assess the home visit request first.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10am.

Telephone: 01634 867982

Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit.

For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. However, we can visit you at home if your condition means you cannot attend one of our practices.

Appointment reminders

Important

Text messages are not sent for emergency on the day appointments.

We have a text messaging service (iPlato) and patients will receive up to two texts prior to their pre-booked appointments.

Change or Cancel an Appointment

Please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.

Ways to cancel

  1. Telephone us on 01634 867982.
  2. Cancel using our online services
  3. Cancel through the NHS App

Out of Hours

Enhanced Access - Evenings and Weekends

Enhanced Access appointments are available for all patients in West Kent, regardless of where they are located. This means that patients can be seen by a clinical professional 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. It will be unlikely that you will be seen by your normal GP and it is likely that you will have to go to a different surgery to your registered practice for these appointments.

You can now see a GP or other healthcare professional during:

  • Weekday evenings (Monday to Friday) between 6:30pm and 8pm (some practices offer early morning appointments)
  • Saturdays between 8am to 12pm at a practice in your local area (times may vary).
  • Sundays and Bank Holidays between 9am to 12:30pm at a hub in Tonbridge or Maidstone.

These appointments offered could be:

  • At your registered practice
  • At another local GP practices
  • At another local NHS service - such as a General Practice Hub
